Sigourney Weaver is back as Ellen Ripley. 200 years after Ellen Ripley threw herself into the prison colony furnace, a new corporation has resurrected her from a small blood sample. All they want is the Queen Alien embryo that was implanted inside her. Ripley’s clone discovers that her DNA has been mixed with the alien’s giving her heightened senses and strength, as well as acidic blood. The aliens prove to be a formidable foe this time around, setting traps for Ripley and her mercenary companions at every exit. The only element missing from this Alien chapter was tension. It is more of an action flick, than a thriller, but still a fantastic movie. How does it compare to its predecessors? It blows Alien 3 away, and is comparable to James Cemeron’s Aliens. However Ridley Scott’s first Alien film won’t be topped easily. It hasn’t been yet, but let’s see what they do with Alien 5. Alien Resurrection scores a 2.5 on the Kevo-Meter.
