Jul 26, 1997 - Air Force OneBack
A daring coup by a force of Russian and American troops is successful. The fundamentalist Dictator of Kazakstan, General Radek is imprisoned. The President of the United States James Marshall (Harrison Ford) after giving a speech on a new hard line policy on terrorism, boards Air Force One, the American presidential airborne super-limo. Naturally, Kazak nationalists take the over the plane in mid air and demand General Radek’s release. Okay, not a brilliant plot, but one very exciting movie. Gary Oldman, once again plays the villain, brilliantly (He had to learn Russian for this role). The film is yet another ‘Yo America!’ flick, however, not as in-your-face as Independence Day or Rambo. You will find yourself grinding your teeth in frustration as you watch Gary Oldman smash Harrison Ford’s face into of computer terminals and chair backings, and I must say I found myself wondering how Mr. Ford didn’t’ walk away from the movie set with a dislocated jaw. The effects: fantastic the sound: incredible the cast: stunning! Should you see this one? Oh Ya! The Kevo-Meter rises to a 3 for Air Force One.
Starring Harrison Ford, Glenn Close, Gary Oldman, and Dean Stockwell. Directed by: Wolfgang Petersen.
