ghost rider photo with bike - marvel comics ghost rider movie review by kevin johnston - kevo meterMarvel Comics have proven time and time again that they have better minds with better ideas than DC Comics. When I compare the two universes side by side, the obvious always comes out. In DC everyone is an alien, everyone can fly, everyone can pick up and throw Mac trucks and so on and so on. Stan Lee created Ghost Rider which ran from 1973 to 1983, and then again from 1990 to 1998. Ghost Rider is a much more entertaining character than most from the comic book realm, as he is not a hero, but rather a classy anti-hero with better-than-most catch phrases. Again, opposite the DC Universe, this character can't fly, is not an alien and quite frankly derives no pleasure from being the 'flaming' creature that he is.

Movie reviews by Kevin Johnston, movies and fun with 300 Bucks, Mississauga logo design companyThe movie hit this feel just right. Johnny Blaze is a cocky, arrogant carnival performer jumping his motorcycle through burning hoops and other obstacles. When he learns that his father has terminal cancer, he makes a deal with a mysterious stranger to return his father to perfect health in exchange for his services that will be required in the future. Johnny's father returns to perfect health just as the Devil promises and is then killed that very same day to keep Johnny's dad from influencing him in any way. Years later, the Devil comes calling on Johnny to fight the ultra-evil and oh-so powerful Blackheart bent on world domination. Johnny becomes Ghost Rider, and feels allot of pain in his transformation as his flesh burns into crispy bacon and then finally ashes to reveal a burning skull and boney fingers, which look very cool with the black leather jacket he dons.

The effects are great, his burning skull is every bit as creepy as it should be, the motorcycle is HOT, and the burning chains are the salt and freshly ground pepper that this delicious steak of a character needs to fill out just right. If you like comic books, this movie is for you, If you like violence, this movie is for you, if you like action this movie is for you, if you like fast motorcycles this movie is for you, and if you generally like getting your entrainment dollar's worth, this movie is definitely for you.

Hey Stan, keep these Marvel-ous movies coming. Ghost Rider scores a 3 on the kevo-meter.
