His mama has kept him sheltered beyond the point of being ridiculous. Bobby Boucher is out of place everywhere he goes. His only goal in life is to be a Water Boy. However, in doing his job, and speaking like Forest Gump he is world’s biggest bully magnet. The coach of the college team fires Bobby, forcing Bobby to look for work at another school. His new coach teaches him the importance of standing up for yourself, and when he does he becomes the most devastating linebacker in the college’s history. Adam Sandler has proven that he’s not just a snotty stand-up comic. He is an extremely talented and funny man. The movie itself offers a number of very big laughs, but falls short of showing us enough of the Football footage the previews showed.
This one is certainly worth at least a once-over, and has earned a 2 on the Kev-O-Meter.
