Each year, over 40,000 people come to enjoy the bread supplied by the two remaining mills in town and honey supplied by local businesses, as well as the parade, arts & crafts displays, entertainment and a midway for young folks.

Field Day

On, the last full weekend in June, (June 25& 26, 2005) hams around North America, participate in a simulated emergency test, whereby stations are established under adverse conditions and a specific set of rules. The object is to set up an operating station or stations under emergency conditions and to contact as many other participating amateurs as possible, within a 24 hour period.

Each year, the Mississauga Amateur Radio Club, actively participates in the ARRL Field Day. It is an ideal event for Club members to practice their skills in erecting antennas, operating a station and logging.

Site setup begins around 10:00AM local time with the start of operations from 2:00PM. Click here to go to our field day page for the details.

Goblin Patrol

The Club members assist the Peel Region Police in patrolling our local neighbourhoods on Halloween. Our objective is to provide extra eyes and ears for the Police and to report to them, any incidents or suspicious activity so that they may investigate and/or take any action as required.

The City is divided into grid squares and members are assigned patrol areas in the city of Mississauga and South Peel County. Reports from patrolling members are plotted on a city map and incident reports are handed directly to the Police as required.

Walk for Children's Dreams

Sunday June 13th is the perfect time to take a Walk for Children's Dreams with The Sunshine Foundation of Canada, along the Mississauga Waterfront Trail. Refreshments and snacks will be served along the route to keep you pumped up and feeling great. There are even awards for Sunshine Walkers and special prizes for Sunshine Dream Teams. So collect some friends, sign up some donations, and "Let the Sunshine In!"

The Mississauga Amateur Radio Club provides much needed communications at check points along the Walk for Children's Dreams, so that participants can be assured of assistance where required. The route starts at Saddington Park and continues east to the Waterworks Park on Lakefront Promenade. Click here to see route map.

The Walk to Cure Diabetes

On Sunday June 13, 2004, The Walk to Cure Diabetes, a fundraising event for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation of Canada, will held along the Credit River starting from Streetsville Memorial Park in Streetsville.
